Post Surgery Update
Snow is recovering well from her surgery, and we really want to thank everyone who has prayed for her. The weekend really have been a tough time for me, and for Snow too..
But she is back on her four legs ..though still weak, and we know she is still in pain, but she is coping well. And she has great appetite.
I am thankful to my cousin Monitar, for her visit on Sunday morning and her willingness to baby-sit Snow for a day today. We both had to be at work, and we were too worried to let Snow to stay at home alone today. Tomorrow CY will be on leave to take care of her..
Did we do the right thing? i am still asking myself. I don't think Snow is enjoying this experience very much. And I vow that I will never let her through anymore painful experience like this..

Snow, wish to see you back active and well soon. Take care. =)
Hi,
I am slightly surprised that Snow is in pain... Cleo didn't feel any pain at all which was a problem for us cause she wanted to do all the things she normally did, like run and jump and play fetch.
The previous dogs that we spayed due illnesses also were back on their feet within a day of surgery.
So I am slightly surprised to hear that she's weak and in pain. Just watch the stitches, give her lots of Vitamin C and keep her quiet. She'll be fine. Make sure you think positive thoughts around her. Doggies need good vibes to recover faster...
Cleo sends her love and hugs...
Dear Eric, Natasha & Cleo,
Thanks very much for the well-wishes.
Natasha, from the many stories and experiences that I have heard from others, spay experiences have been a pleasant one for most of the furkids. But unfortunately not for my dear Snow. Last night, at around 10pm, we were totallly panicked when some soft tissues actually oozed our from her wound. We rushed her to the only 24 hour animal hospital that we know of - The Animal Medical Center at Jalan Tun Razak. By the time we reached there, we were told by the vet that we had an open stitch and there were some infection too. Snow had a quick surgery last night and this morning. We visited her again today afternoon and are glad to see that she is in good hands now. The vet Dr.Siva took care of the infection and fixed the stitch. The real reason - we were told that the first surgery that we had back in SS15 had the incision made way too low near her thigh and with slight movement, her muscles caused the stitch to open up!
Right now, Snow is still under supervision and is warded/boarded at the Animal Medical Centre. We could see that she is comfortable there, with so many other fur-friends around. She is still under drip right now but will be back on food tomorrow..
Let's pray for her speedy recovery. Dr.Siva predicted another 10 days of quarantine for her to fully recover before we can take off her cone collar and remove her stitches.
*sigh* I think I am just not a good mother to her. I did not give her the best that she deserved. I was just too workaholic and probably have neglected her recovery period. And I am still wondering till today , did we do the right thing by letting her to go thru this painful experience? Did we do the right thing by responding to the Neuter/spay campaign?
Just read your post... don't worry about Snow. She will recover. She needs to be kept queit for 10 days when she gets back, which is today I think.
If she is too active, please give her a mild sedative and keep her confined in a small space.
When Cleo was spayed, I took 10 days off work... but that was me being paranoid and not everyone can afford to do that...
So hang in there, and the spaying is really worth it... seriously...
